WHY ECFE?
Parents are children's first and most important teachers. Early Childhood Family Education provides opportunities for parents and young children to grow and learn together in a safe, supportive atmosphere. Come join us for parent/child sessions and special family events.
WHO IS ECFE FOR?
ECFE is for expectant parents or parents of children between the ages of birth and kindergarten. Day Care providers are welcome to attend classes and receive credit towards the renewal of their day care license.
WHAT IS AN ECFE CLASS LIKE?
Parent and Child Interaction Time
Parents and children explore learning stations designed to help children's overall growth and give parents ideas and activities at home. This time also includes a group "Circle Time" of songs and games.
Parent Discussion Time
Following the interaction time, a parent group facilitator will provide resources and lead discussions about child development, parenting techniques, and current issues concerning today's families.
Guided Play and Learning Experiences for Children
During parent discussion time, a licensed early childhood teacher works directly with the children and provides learning experiences including those that promote sharing, socializing, and relating to friends their own age.
REGISTRATION
Pre-registration is required to attend ECFE Classes. We need to plan for activities and staff, so please respond as soon as possible.
