Pledge of Allegiance (Read by Principal Miller on Mondays before the announcements)

Please stand:

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which is stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. 

Athletics:

Baseball:  Game in Olivia.  Dismissal at 215 pm.  The bus leaves at 225 pm. 

          JV Baseball: Game vs. Marshall in Marshall.  Dismissal at 215 pm.  The bus

          leaves at 225 pm.

Golf: Match vs. Springfield at the Mayflower.  Dismissal at 230 pm.  The bus leaves at 240 pm from the District Office side.  Driving to the course is allowed for those student athletes who turned in the signed waiver.  This allows the singed individual on the waiver and ONLY that individual driving privileges to and from the Mayflower.   

  • Friday, April 10th, practice will be on the school grounds/inside.  MVL is hosting a meet at the Mayflower, so the course is closed.  The Team photo will be taken at 330 pm for the Standard-Gazette-Messenger.  Coaches would like ALL 2026 golfers present before practice starts to get the photo taken.  Collared golf polo shirt would be great but is not mandatory.        

Track: Practice in Sleepy Eye.  The bus leaves from the District Office end at 325 pm.

Softball: Game vs. Pipestone in Redwood.  Dismissal at 215 pm.  The bus leaves at 225 pm. 

            C Softball: Game vs. Pipestone in Redwood.  Dismissal at 215 pm.  The bus 

           leaves at 225 pm.

Tennis: Practice in Redwood.  The bus leaves at 325 pm.

Football: Conditioning practice is this Sunday, April 12th, at 400 pm at the football field for all 8th through 11 grade football players.

Cedar Mountain Schools Scholarships applications are available in Mr. Palokangas’ office and online on the school website under Counselors Corner.  Applications are due back to Mr. Palokangas on Friday, April 24th, by the end of the day. 

Prom sign-ups continues before and after school (not between or during classes) in Mrs. Hoffmann’s room & the signup with payment will end TOMORROW, Friday, April 10th. Payment of $35.00 per person is due at the time you sign up.  Reminder of the grade check for eligibility the week of April 24th.  You will have until Friday, April 24th, to get all grades to passing.  No refunds will be given due to ineligibility.  You must be in school the entire half day on Friday, May 1st, to be able to attend prom as well.  Pre-approved absences must go through Principal Miller.  If you have any questions, see an advisor.  We’re happy to work with you.  Prom is Saturday, May 2nd.

All seniors:

  • Please submit a senior picture for the yearbook to Ms. Sorenson by May 1st.  If you do not submit a senior picture, your latest Lifetouch portrait will go in the yearbook.  Only about 25% of seniors have turned in pictures.

NHS: Meeting on Friday, April 10th, during lunch in the Art Room.  Please let Ms. Sorenson know ahead of time if you are unable to attend. 

Speech Team: Congratulations to Macaria and Baxter! They’re both going to sectionals for Speech on April 18th! Best of luck to both of you!

Early Dismissals and Breaks:

General:

Firearm Safety Field Day is Saturday, April 25th from 745 am to 200 pm.  The class begins at the Morgan Public Library on Vernon Ave and ends at the Sportsman’s Range.  Rain or shine the class will be completed this date.  To prepare for the field day you must first complete the on-line classwork.  This will take 12 hours or more.  Please send registration info to Dan Kettner 507-430-1325.

There’s concession stand candy available for purchase in the MS/HS Office after school.  Kinds include M&Ms (plain and peanut), Skittles (original and Wild Berry), and Starburst.  Each candy $1.00 each.
