Welcome back, students, families, and staff, to the 2026–2027 school year!
There is nothing quite like the electric atmosphere of fall—from the
excitement of football and volleyball games to the anticipation of
homecoming activities. That Cougar spirit leading into a new school year is
always amazing, and this year will be no different. I am thrilled to
welcome everyone back to our buildings for what promises to be an inspiring
and productive year!
Over the summer, our campus underwent exciting facility upgrades, including
brand-new windows and a full remodel of our Family and Consumer Science
spaces. These enhancements directly expand our Career and Technical
Education (CTE) offerings, providing our students with modern, hands-on
learning environments. To further support post-secondary planning, we are
introducing Xello, a platform for students and parents designed to explore
future paths. Our Homeroom and Rise groups will continue utilizing Xello to
help students map out their individual goals.
To ensure our students stay focused and present, we have also updated our
cell phone policy. Students will be asked to store their phones in their
lockers, giving them permission to “unplug” during the day. Together,
teachers and students will prioritize an uninterrupted, phone- and
social-media-free environment dedicated to learning. Listening directly to
feedback from our parent community, we are proud to introduce a new Choir
program for grades 7–12. We look forward to gradually building this program
alongside our existing music offerings and invite you all to join us for
our student choir performances during our upcoming December and May
concerts!
Technology will play a key role in our classrooms this year as we
transition from Schoology to Google Classroom as our primary learning
management system. Chromebooks will be distributed by staff at the
beginning of the school year and will be essential for daily learning. We
encourage students to report any Chromebook issues to staff immediately so
we can keep learning uninterrupted. Additionally, please note that our
daily schedule will feature eight 45-minute periods, and graduation
requirements have been updated to 27 credits on a phased scale based on
your student’s graduation year.
Finally, we are aware of the ongoing local bridge construction through
October. We have plans in place to accommodate student transportation to
and from the Franklin and Morgan areas to ensure a seamless start to the
morning routine. Thank you for your continued partnership and support—let’s
channel all this fantastic back-to-school energy and make the 2026–2027
school year our best one yet!
