Cedar Mountain Middle School/High School

Pledge of Allegiance (Read by Principal Miller on Mondays before the announcements)

Please stand:

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which is stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. 

Athletics:

Students 16 and older in a spring sport: If you plan to drive to home practices or competitions this season, make sure you complete and turn in a transportation waiver.  Copies are located in the MS/HS Office and can be submitted to Mr. Robinson. 

Golf: Practice begins March 16th.

Softball: Practice in Redwood. The bus leaves at 325 pm.

JV Baseball:  Practice in Redwood.  The bus leaves at 325 pm. Same bus as softball.

Track:

  • Practice in Sleepy Eye. Pick up by the District Office. The bus leaves at 325 pm.
  • Practice is every day at the track when the weather is permitting.  If the weather is cold or unfavorable, it will be at the hockey arena Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.  On Wednesday and Friday, practice will be at Cedar Mountain when weather is unfavorable. 
  • All changes will be communicated on the band app https://band.us/n/aca00eeco0JfO.
  • All athletes are expected to have a water bottle, running shoes, sweatpants and sweatshirt daily.  Dress in layers according to the weather.

Spring Athletes: Scheels is offering 20% discount coupons to MSHSL spring sports athletes.  These coupons are good online and in-store from now until March 15th.  See Mr. Robinson for more information. 

Middle School/High School:

Congratulations to our Band!  Yesterday they received a superior rating at state competition!  They achieved something not seen before at Cedar Mountain.  Be proud of what you accomplished!  And a big hats off to Mr. Root with his leadership.  We’re proud of all of you!

Band Concert at the MS/HS on March 19th

All seniors:

  • Please submit a senior picture for the yearbook to Ms. Sorenson by May 1st.  If you do not submit a senior picture, your latest Lifetouch portrait will go in the yearbook. Only about 25% of seniors have turned in pictures.

Student Council:

Speech Team:

  • JH Speech Meet on Thursday, March 12th, at MCC in Slayton. Dismissal at 150 pm. Van will leave at 200 pm.
  • HS Speech Meet on Saturday, March 14th, in Mineota. Van will leave at 700 am.

FFA:

NHS: Meeting on Friday, March 13th, during lunch in the Art Room.  Please let Ms. Sorenson know ahead of time if you are unable to attend.   

Early Dismissals and Breaks:

  • Friday, March 20th, no school due to staff inservice.
  • Tuesday, March 31st, early dismissal of 1202 pm.
  • Spring Break: April 1st-6th, no school.  School resumes on Tuesday, April 7th.

Theatre:

General:

There’s concession stand candy available for purchase in the MS/HS Office after school.  Kinds include M&Ms (plain and peanut), Skittles (original and Wild Berry), Kit Kat and Starburst.  Each candy $2.00 each.

Friday March 13, 2026: Due to the power outage in Franklin, Cedar Mountain Schools will have an E-Learning Day today. We understand that some families will not be able to participate in e-learning because of the outage.
