Dear Cedar Mountain Families, Staff, and Community Members,
At the School Board meeting on Wednesday, August 19, the board officially approved a modified calendar for the upcoming academic year. School will now begin on Monday, September 14, rather than the originally scheduled date of Tuesday, September 8.
This short delay is necessary to allow our construction crews to finalize ongoing facility updates and to give our Buildings and Grounds team the required time to clean, arrange, and prepare our classrooms for a safe, welcoming environment.
Key Calendar Details & Updates:
- New Start Date: Monday, September 14
- Student Contact Days: Adjusted from 171 days to 167 days
- Early Out changes: We are changing the early outs on October 14 and October 23 to full-day student contact days
- Staff Contact Days: Remain 183
- Inclement Weather & E-Learning Days: We retain our 5 authorized E-Learning days to use for inclement weather. We will start using these days right away, rather than allowing the first day to be a snow day.
- Extended Weather Contingency: If we exceed 5 inclement weather days, we will first utilize previously scheduled non-school days. Only if necessary due to a harsh winter will we add days at the end of the school year to ensure we meet state minimum student contact requirements.
Building principals will reach out directly to families in the coming days with specific details regarding updated “Meet the Teacher” plans.
We deeply appreciate everyone’s flexibility, patience, and continued support as we prepare our facilities for an exceptional school year.
Sincerely,
John Cselovszki
Superintendent
