Welcome to Cedar Mountain Cougar Cub Child Care Center!
We are home to infants – preschoolers ages 6 weeks to 5 years old.
MISSION STATEMENT
At Cedar Mountain Cougar Cub Child Care Center, our Vision is believing in the uniqueness and individuality of each child we provide care for. We, along with parents and the community, want each child’s learning experience to promote their own social, emotional, physical and cognitive development to their fullest potential.
As our children’s caregivers and educators, our Mission is to provide a safe and developmentally appropriate learning environment in which each child thrives at each stage of their development. Our goal is to provide opportunities for them to become lifelong learners.
PHILOSOPHY
At Cedar Mountain Cougar Cub Child Care Center our staff strives to provide the Highest Quality Child Care and Learning Environment that ensures the best for each child’s development and foster active learning in safe and stimulating surroundings. The following principles are taken from the Minnesota Department of Education and serve as the foundation of our curriculum.
The early childhood years from birth to the start of kindergarten are an important time of rapid growth and learning.
The Early Childhood Indicators of Progress (ECIP’s) are Minnesota’s early learning standards; one set is for birth to age three and another is for age three to kindergarten entry. The standards help us share developmentally appropriate expectations for what children should know and be able to do at certain ages. They offer common language for assessing progress and supporting children and families. Our staff will also try to align with Minnesota’s knowledge and competency framework for early childhood professionals. To better understand these standards, you can go online and read through them.
