Mrs. Royal Braaten grew up in Spicer, MN. She attended Jamestown College in Jamestown, ND. After graduating with degrees in English Education and Vocal/Instrumental Music Education, she was hired by Yellow Medicine East Schools in Granite Falls, MN. She taught there for 3 years, teaching various classes including English 7, 9, & 12 and College Public Speaking.
She was hired by Cedar Mountain in 2010. In June 2012, she got married. Mrs. Royal Braaten keeps busy at home doing various hobbies like scrapbooking, quilting, sewing, reading, playing Wii and PS2, and watching movies.
