2008 Prom

Saturday, April 26th

Prom

The prom is a party for the graduating seniors, staged by the juniors. The decorating is undertaken by the juniors under the supervision of their advisors. Senior guests and junior hosts are permitted to invite sophomore or outside guests provided they are registered and approved by the school administration. Sophomore and outside guests are the responsibility of the student who signed him/her up. Sophomore and outside guests will be asked to leave if their Cedar Mountain date leaves.

All rules and regulations related to this affair are subject to change at the discretion of the local school board. Continuation of this annual event will be dependent upon the interest and enthusiasm displayed by the sponsoring junior class and members of the senior class. Closing time and rules are the same as for other special school events. Freshmen are not permitted to attend. Appropriate dress is required for this event. Jeans, shorts, etc., are not permitted during the banquet, grand march, and dance.

Students attending prom must be in attendance all day if prom is held on a school day evening or in attendance the whole day before prom if prom is held on a weekend evening. Students who are attending prom must have all class dues paid and must be passing all of their classes to be eligible. Emergencies and extenuating circumstances will be considered by the administration.

Academic Eligibility and Prom Attendance

Our policy states that anyone who wishes to attend prom must be passing all of his or her classes. The cut-off date for late work, tests, quizzes, projects, etc. is April 25, 2008. If a student is not passing all of their classes on April 25th, they will be academically ineligible to attend prom. Teachers will be reminding students of this and it will continue in the announcements. Please ask your son or daughter frequently about homework, tests, quizzes, projects, etc. A great deal of money has been spent preparing for prom and that is why it is so important to stay on top of this issue.
