The Mock Trial program is a statewide competition sponsored by the Minnesota State Bar Association. The program is designed to give participants a memorable educational experience that will increase their knowledge of our legal system, how it operates and who the major players are.
Each year the MN State Bar Association prepares a case that serves as the basis for the competition. Teams of high school students, made up of 3 witnesses and 3 attorneys for both the plaintiff and the defense sides of the casework represent their position within the rules of the Mock Trial competition.
The Mock Trial season begins in December each year. Competitions are held between area schools, and tournaments are held throughout the state in January. The official state competition begins in February and culminates in the state championship tournament in March.
The 2007 - 2008 Mock Trial team is coached by Deb Distad.
