Athletic / Activity Fees & Admission Prices

Students participating in extracurricular sports and Spirit Squad will be charged an activity fee. The fee will be $50 for each athletic activity with a $130 maximum for an individual. Families having more than one student participating in activities will have a maximum of $225. The activity fee for junior high sports is $35 per season. All fees must be paid before the student will be allowed to participate in the first contest. There are no fees for fine arts activities.

Individual admission prices for athletic events are $5 for adults and $3 for students. Tickets good only for home events are 10 punches for adults, $45; 10 punches for students, $25; and for senior citizens (age 65 and older), 5 punches for $12.50 or 10 punches for $25. These punch-tickets may not be used for tournament games. Also, season passes may be purchased for $60 each.

Activities / Athletic Attendance

A student must be in school the entire day to be eligible to participate in or attend the day’s activities or programs (concerts, athletic events, dances, etc.). An exception to this is a school-sponsored activity. Parents and students must see the high school principal for other extenuating circumstances. If a student is removed from a class period due to disciplinary action, he/she will not be allowed to participate in school-sponsored activities for the remainder of that day. Participants in extracurricular activities will be required to attend the evening’s activities, but cannot participate. Students not involved in extracurricular activities cannot attend the evening's activities.

Academic Eligibility

If a student receives a deficiency slip, failing mark on a progress report, or a failing mark at the end of a quarter, they are immediately ineligible upon receipt of a report to participate in any extracurricular activities for a period of one week. Students will be issued an eligibility form. They will not be allowed to participate in the activity during competition until they are eligible. The form must be signed by the teacher whose class the student is failing and the High School Activities Director before they will be allowed to compete. A coach will not allow a student to compete until they have the eligibility form signed.

A student declared ineligible will not be permitted to perform in any co-curricular activities or organizations. Included are such events as: prom, library privileges, athletic participation, school dance, annual, declam, extracurricular band/choir participation, FFA, and Spirit Squad. Christmas and Easter vacations will not be counted as school weeks. The ineligible student must practice in any activities they participate in, but may not participate in the activity during competition until they are eligible.

Report cards will be issued to students every nine weeks. At the end of every marking period a student who receives an "F" or an "I" on his/her report card, with or without a deficiency slip notice being sent out, will be declared scholastically ineligible. This ineligibility will go into effect immediately upon receiving the report card. A student who receives an "I" on their report card has one week from receipt of the report card to make up the outstanding work. After one week, all "I's" will be changed to "F". If a student receives an "F" at the end of the fourth quarter, he/she will be ineligible for the first extracurricular event in the fall.

Behavior at School Activities

Appropriate behavior at school sponsored events is expected at all times. The supervisory personnel may ask students to leave if they are involved in any disruptive behavior. Students should remain seated during events except during designated breaks.

Bus to Extracurricular Events

All athletes, managers, statisticians, Spirit Squad members, and coaches must ride the bus. At tournament and contest time, band/choir members need to ride the bus to and from the event. If you will be riding home with your parents, your parents must sign the authorization sheet that the coaches have. Any exceptions need to be cleared by the administration beforehand. If you are not a participant of the organization going to an event, you will not be allowed to ride the bus. Any exception to this rule must be agreed upon and cleared by the high school principal, the Activities Director, and the supervisor/advisor of the event/contest/competition.
